Fifth Sunday After Pentecost – Quinto Domingo Después de Pentecostés
22The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
23they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
25The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul that seeks him.
26It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
27It is good for one to bear
the yoke in youth,
28to sit alone in silence
when the Lord has imposed it,
29to put one’s mouth to the dust
(there may yet be hope),
30to give one’s cheek to the smiter,
and be filled with insults.
31For the Lord will not
reject forever.
32Although he causes grief, he will have compassion
according to the abundance of his steadfast love;
33for he does not willingly afflict
or grieve anyone.
22 El gran amor del Señor nunca se acaba,[a]
y su compasión jamás se agota.
23 Cada mañana se renuevan sus bondades;
¡muy grande es su fidelidad!
24 Por tanto, digo:
«El Señor es todo lo que tengo.
¡En él esperaré!»
25 Bueno es el Señor con quienes en él confían,
con todos los que lo buscan.
26 Bueno es esperar calladamente
que el Señor venga a salvarnos.
27 Bueno es que el hombre aprenda
a llevar el yugo desde su juventud.
28 ¡Déjenlo estar solo y en silencio,
porque así el Señor se lo impuso!
29 ¡Que hunda el rostro en el polvo!
¡Tal vez haya esperanza todavía!
30 ¡Que dé la otra mejilla a quien lo hiera,
y quede así cubierto de oprobio!
31 El Señor nos ha rechazado,
pero no será para siempre.
32 Nos hace sufrir, pero también nos compadece,
porque es muy grande su amor.
33 El Señor nos hiere y nos aflige,
pero no porque sea de su agrado.
and have not let my enemies triumph over me.
2O Lord my God, I cried out to you,
and you restored me to health.
3You brought me up, O Lord, from the dead;
you restored my life as I was going down to the grave.
4Sing praise to the Lord, all you faithful;
give thanks in holy remembrance.
5God’s wrath is short; God’s favor lasts a lifetime.
Weeping spends the night, but joy comes in the morning.
6While I felt secure, I said,
“I shall never be disturbed.
7You, Lord, with your favor, made me as strong as the mountains.”
Then you hid your face, and I was filled with fear.
8I cried to you, O Lord;
I pleaded with my Lord, saying,
9“What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you or declare your faithfulness?
10Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me;
O Lord, be my helper.”
11You have turned my wailing into dancing;
you have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
12Therefore my heart sings to you without ceasing;
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.
Te exaltaré, Señor, porque me levantaste,
porque no dejaste que mis enemigos se burlaran de mí.
2 Señor mi Dios, te pedí ayuda
y me sanaste.
3 Tú, Señor, me sacaste del sepulcro;
me hiciste revivir de entre los muertos.
4 Canten al Señor, ustedes sus fieles;
alaben su santo nombre.
5 Porque solo un instante dura su enojo,
pero toda una vida su bondad.
Si por la noche hay llanto,
por la mañana habrá gritos de alegría.
6 Cuando me sentí seguro, exclamé:
«Jamás seré conmovido».
7 Tú, Señor, en tu buena voluntad,
me afirmaste en elevado baluarte;
pero escondiste tu rostro,
y yo quedé confundido.
8 A ti clamo, Señor Soberano;
a ti me vuelvo suplicante.
9 ¿Qué ganas tú con que yo muera,
con que descienda yo al sepulcro?
¿Acaso el polvo te alabará
o proclamará tu verdad?
10 Oye, Señor; compadécete de mí.
¡Sé tú, Señor, mi ayuda!
11 Convertiste mi lamento en danza;
me quitaste la ropa de luto
y me vestiste de fiesta,
12 para que te cante y te glorifique,
y no me quede callado.
¡Señor mi Dios, siempre te daré gracias!
8I do not say this as a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love against the earnestness of others. 9For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. 10And in this matter I am giving my advice: it is appropriate for you who began last year not only to do something but even to desire to do something—11now finish doing it, so that your eagerness may be matched by completing it according to your means. 12For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have. 13I do not mean that there should be relief for others and pressure on you, but it is a question of a fair balance between 14your present abundance and their need, so that their abundance may be for your need, in order that there may be a fair balance. 15As it is written,
“The one who had much did not have too much,
and the one who had little did not have too little.”
7 Pero ustedes, así como sobresalen en todo —en fe, en palabras, en conocimiento, en dedicación y en su amor hacia nosotros[a]—, procuren también sobresalir en esta gracia de dar.
8 No es que esté dándoles órdenes, sino que quiero probar la sinceridad de su amor en comparación con la dedicación de los demás. 9 Ya conocen la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que, aunque era rico, por causa de ustedes se hizo pobre, para que mediante su pobreza ustedes llegaran a ser ricos.
10 Aquí va mi consejo sobre lo que les conviene en este asunto: El año pasado ustedes fueron los primeros no solo en dar, sino también en querer hacerlo. 11 Lleven ahora a feliz término la obra, para que, según sus posibilidades, cumplan con lo que de buena gana propusieron. 12 Porque, si uno lo hace de buena voluntad, lo que da es bien recibido según lo que tiene, y no según lo que no tiene.
13 No se trata de que otros encuentren alivio mientras que ustedes sufren escasez; es más bien cuestión de igualdad. 14 En las circunstancias actuales la abundancia de ustedes suplirá lo que ellos necesitan, para que a su vez la abundancia de ellos supla lo que ustedes necesitan. Así habrá igualdad, 15 como está escrito: «Ni al que recogió mucho le sobraba, ni al que recogió poco le faltaba».
7 Pero ustedes, así como sobresalen en todo —en fe, en palabras, en conocimiento, en dedicación y en su amor hacia nosotros—, procuren también sobresalir en esta gracia de dar.

And a large crowd followed him and pressed in on him. 25Now there was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years. 26She had endured much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had; and she was no better, but rather grew worse. 27She had heard about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28for she said, “If I but touch his clothes, I will be made well.” 29Immediately her hemorrhage stopped; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. 30Immediately aware that power had gone forth from him, Jesus turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?” 31And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing in on you; how can you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ” 32He looked all around to see who had done it. 33But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling, fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
35While he was still speaking, some people came from the leader’s house to say, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher any further?” 36But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” 37He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. 38When they came to the house of the leader of the synagogue, he saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. 39When he had entered, he said to them, “Why do you make a commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping.” 40And they laughed at him. Then he put them all outside, and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha cum,” which means, “Little girl, get up!” 42And immediately the girl got up and began to walk about (she was twelve years of age). At this they were overcome with amazement. 43He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.
21 Después de que Jesús regresó en la barca al otro lado del lago, se reunió alrededor de él una gran multitud, por lo que él se quedó en la orilla. 22 Llegó entonces uno de los jefes de la sinagoga, llamado Jairo. Al ver a Jesús, se arrojó a sus pies, 23 suplicándole con insistencia:
—Mi hijita se está muriendo. Ven y pon tus manos sobre ella para que se sane y viva.
24 Jesús se fue con él, y lo seguía una gran multitud, la cual lo apretujaba. 25 Había entre la gente una mujer que hacía doce años que padecía de hemorragias. 26 Había sufrido mucho a manos de varios médicos, y se había gastado todo lo que tenía sin que le hubiera servido de nada, pues en vez de mejorar, iba de mal en peor. 27 Cuando oyó hablar de Jesús, se le acercó por detrás entre la gente y le tocó el manto. 28 Pensaba: «Si logro tocar siquiera su ropa, quedaré sana». 29 Al instante cesó su hemorragia, y se dio cuenta de que su cuerpo había quedado libre de esa aflicción.
30 Al momento también Jesús se dio cuenta de que de él había salido poder, así que se volvió hacia la gente y preguntó:
—¿Quién me ha tocado la ropa?
31 —Ves que te apretuja la gente —le contestaron sus discípulos—, y aun así preguntas: “¿Quién me ha tocado?”
32 Pero Jesús seguía mirando a su alrededor para ver quién lo había hecho. 33 La mujer, sabiendo lo que le había sucedido, se acercó temblando de miedo y, arrojándose a sus pies, le confesó toda la verdad.
34 —¡Hija, tu fe te ha sanado! —le dijo Jesús—. Vete en paz y queda sana de tu aflicción.
35 Todavía estaba hablando Jesús cuando llegaron unos hombres de la casa de Jairo, jefe de la sinagoga, para decirle:
—Tu hija ha muerto. ¿Para qué sigues molestando al Maestro?
36 Sin hacer caso de la noticia, Jesús le dijo al jefe de la sinagoga:
—No tengas miedo; cree nada más.
37 No dejó que nadie lo acompañara, excepto Pedro, Jacobo y Juan, el hermano de Jacobo. 38 Cuando llegaron a la casa del jefe de la sinagoga, Jesús notó el alboroto, y que la gente lloraba y daba grandes alaridos. 39 Entró y les dijo:
—¿Por qué tanto alboroto y llanto? La niña no está muerta, sino dormida.
40 Entonces empezaron a burlarse de él, pero él los sacó a todos, tomó consigo al padre y a la madre de la niña y a los discípulos que estaban con él, y entró adonde estaba la niña. 41 La tomó de la mano y le dijo:
—Talita cum (que significa: Niña, a ti te digo, ¡levántate!).
42 La niña, que tenía doce años, se levantó en seguida y comenzó a andar. Ante este hecho todos se llenaron de asombro. 43 Él dio órdenes estrictas de que nadie se enterara de lo ocurrido, y les mandó que le dieran de comer a la niña.
