³⁴Peter began to speak to [the people]: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, ³⁵but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. ³⁶You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all. ³⁷That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced: ³⁸how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. ³⁹We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; ⁴⁰but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear, ⁴¹not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. ⁴²He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. ⁴³All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

³⁴ Pedro tomó la palabra, y dijo:

—Ahora comprendo que en realidad para Dios no hay favoritismos, ³⁵ sino que en toda nación él ve con agrado a los que le temen y actúan con justicia. ³⁶ Dios envió su mensaje al pueblo de Israel, anunciando las buenas nuevas de la paz por medio de Jesucristo, que es el Señor de todos. ³⁷ Ustedes conocen este mensaje que se difundió por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea, después del bautismo que predicó Juan. ³⁸ Me refiero a Jesús de Nazaret: cómo lo ungió Dios con el Espíritu Santo y con poder, y cómo anduvo haciendo el bien y sanando a todos los que estaban oprimidos por el diablo, porque Dios estaba con él. ³⁹ Nosotros somos testigos de todo lo que hizo en la tierra de los judíos y en Jerusalén. Lo mataron, colgándolo de un madero, ⁴⁰ pero Dios lo resucitó al tercer día y dispuso que se apareciera, ⁴¹ no a todo el pueblo, sino a nosotros, testigos previamente escogidos por Dios, que comimos y bebimos con él después de su resurrección. ⁴² Él nos mandó a predicar al pueblo y a dar solemne testimonio de que ha sido nombrado por Dios como juez de vivos y muertos. ⁴³ De él dan testimonio todos los profetas, que todo el que cree en él recibe, por medio de su nombre, el perdón de los pecados.

¹If you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ²Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, ³for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. ⁴When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.

Ya que han resucitado con Cristo, busquen las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la derecha de Dios. ² Concentren su atención en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra, ³ pues ustedes han muerto y su vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios. ⁴ Cuando Cristo, que es la vida de ustedes, se manifieste, entonces también ustedes serán manifestados con él en gloria.

¹After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. ²And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. ³His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. ⁴For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. ⁵But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. ⁶He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. ⁷Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ This is my message for you.” ⁸So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. ⁹Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. ¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Después del sábado, al amanecer del primer día de la semana, María Magdalena y la otra María fueron a ver el sepulcro.

² Sucedió que hubo un terremoto violento, porque un ángel del Señor bajó del cielo y, acercándose al sepulcro, quitó la piedra y se sentó sobre ella. ³ Su aspecto era como el de un relámpago, y su ropa era blanca como la nieve. ⁴ Los guardias tuvieron tanto miedo de él que se pusieron a temblar y quedaron como muertos.

⁵ El ángel dijo a las mujeres:

—No tengan miedo; sé que ustedes buscan a Jesús, el que fue crucificado. ⁶ No está aquí, pues ha resucitado, tal como dijo. Vengan a ver el lugar donde lo pusieron. ⁷ Luego vayan pronto a decirles a sus discípulos: “Él se ha levantado de entre los muertos y va delante de ustedes a Galilea. Allí lo verán”. Ahora ya lo saben.

⁸ Así que las mujeres se alejaron a toda prisa del sepulcro, asustadas pero muy alegres, y corrieron a dar la noticia a los discípulos. ⁹ En eso Jesús les salió al encuentro y las saludó. Ellas se le acercaron, le abrazaron los pies y lo adoraron.

¹⁰ —No tengan miedo —les dijo Jesús—. Vayan a decirles a mis hermanos que se dirijan a Galilea, y allí me verán.
