⁹Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
  Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
 Lo, your king comes to you;
  triumphant and victorious is he,
 humble and riding on a donkey,
  on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
¹⁰He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
  and the war-horse from Jerusalem;
 and the battle bow shall be cut off,
  and he shall command peace to the nations;
 his dominion shall be from sea to sea,
  and from the River to the ends of the earth.

¹¹As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you,
  I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
¹²Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope;
  today I declare that I will restore to you double.

⁹ ¡Alégrate mucho, hija de Sión!
    ¡Grita de alegría, hija de Jerusalén!
Mira, tu rey viene hacia ti,
    justo, Salvador y humilde.
Viene montado en un asno,
    en un pollino, cría de asna.
¹⁰ Destruirá los carros de Efraín
    y los caballos de Jerusalén.
Quebrará el arco de combate
    y proclamará paz a las naciones.
Su dominio se extenderá de mar a mar,
    ¡desde el río Éufrates
    hasta los confines de la tierra!

¹¹ En cuanto a ti,
    por la sangre de mi pacto contigo
    libraré de la cisterna seca a tus cautivos.
¹² Vuelvan a su fortaleza,
    cautivos de la esperanza,
pues hoy mismo les hago saber
    que les devolveré el doble.

⁸The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
  slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
 ⁹Lord, you are good to all,
  and your compassion is over all your works. 
 ¹⁰All your works shall praise you, O Lord,
  and your faithful ones shall bless you.
 ¹¹They shall tell of the glory of your kingdom
  and speak of your power,
 ¹²that all people may know of your power
  and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
 ¹³Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; your dominion endures throughout all ages.
  You, Lord, are faithful in all your words, and loving in all your works.
 ¹⁴The Lord upholds all those who fall
  and lifts up those whoare bowed down. 

⁸ El Señor es clemente y compasivo,
    lento para la ira y grande en amor.

⁹ El Señor es bueno con todos;
    él se compadece de toda su creación.

¹⁰ Que te alaben, Señor, todas tus obras;
    que te bendigan tus fieles.

¹¹ Que hablen de la gloria de tu reino;
    que proclamen tus proezas,

¹² para que todo el mundo conozca tus proezas
    y la gloria y esplendor de tu reino.

¹³ Tu reino es un reino eterno;
    tu dominio permanece por todas las edades.

Fiel es el Señor a su palabra
    y bondadoso en todas sus obras.

¹⁴ El Señor levanta a los caídos
    y sostiene a los agobiados.

¹⁵I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. ¹⁶Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. ¹⁷But in fact it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me. ¹⁸For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. ¹⁹For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. ²⁰Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me.
  ²¹So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand. ²²For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, ²³but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. ²⁴Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? ^25aThanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

¹⁵ No entiendo lo que me pasa, pues no hago lo que quiero, sino lo que aborrezco. ¹⁶ Ahora bien, si hago lo que no quiero, estoy de acuerdo en que la ley es buena; ¹⁷ pero, en ese caso, ya no soy yo quien lo lleva a cabo, sino el pecado que habita en mí. ¹⁸ Yo sé que en mí, es decir, en mi naturaleza pecaminosa, nada bueno habita. Aunque deseo hacer lo bueno, no soy capaz de hacerlo. ¹⁹ De hecho, no hago el bien que quiero, sino el mal que no quiero. ²⁰ Y, si hago lo que no quiero, ya no soy yo quien lo hace, sino el pecado que habita en mí.

²¹ Así que descubro esta ley: que, cuando quiero hacer el bien, me acompaña el mal. ²² Porque en lo íntimo de mi ser me deleito en la ley de Dios; ²³ pero me doy cuenta de que en los miembros de mi cuerpo hay otra ley, que es la ley del pecado. Esta ley lucha contra la ley de mi mente, y me tiene cautivo. ²⁴ ¡Soy un pobre miserable! ¿Quién me librará de este cuerpo mortal? ²⁵ ¡Gracias a Dios por medio de Jesucristo nuestro Señor!

En conclusión, con la mente yo mismo me someto a la ley de Dios, pero mi naturaleza pecaminosa está sujeta a la ley del pecado.

[Jesus spoke to the crowd saying:] ¹⁶“To what will I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to one another,
 ¹⁷‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
  we wailed, and you did not mourn.’
¹⁸For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon’; ¹⁹the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”
  ²⁵At that time Jesus said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; ²⁶yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. ²⁷All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
  ²⁸“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. ²⁹Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

¹⁶ »¿Con qué puedo comparar a esta generación? Se parece a los niños sentados en la plaza que gritan a los demás:

¹⁷ »“Tocamos la flauta,
    y ustedes no bailaron;
Cantamos por los muertos,
    y ustedes no lloraron”.

¹⁸ »Porque vino Juan, que no comía ni bebía, y ellos dicen: “Tiene un demonio”. ¹⁹ Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: “Este es un glotón y un borracho, amigo de recaudadores de impuestos y de pecadores”. Pero la sabiduría queda demostrada por sus hechos».

²⁵ En aquel tiempo Jesús dijo: «Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque habiendo escondido estas cosas de los sabios e instruidos, se las has revelado a los que son como niños. ²⁶ Sí, Padre, porque esa fue tu buena voluntad.

²⁷ »Mi Padre me ha entregado todas las cosas. Nadie conoce al Hijo sino el Padre, y nadie conoce al Padre sino el Hijo y aquel a quien el Hijo quiera revelarlo.

²⁸ »Vengan a mí todos ustedes que están cansados y agobiados, y yo les daré descanso. ²⁹ Carguen con mi yugo y aprendan de mí, pues yo soy apacible y humilde de corazón, y encontrarán descanso para su alma. ³⁰ Porque mi yugo es suave y mi carga es liviana».
