¿Qué es el luteranismo?

Martín Lutero tenía ocho años cuando Cristóbal Colón zarpó de Europa y desembarcó en el hemisferio occidental. Lutero era un joven monje y sacerdote cuando Miguel Ángel pintaba la Capilla Sixtina en Roma.

Unos años más tarde, era miembro junior del cuerpo docente de una nueva universidad en un pequeño pueblo de Alemania y estudiaba intensamente las Escrituras, “cautivado por un ardor extraordinario por comprender a Pablo en la Epístola a los Romanos”.

En estos días Lutero estaba atormentado por la exigencia de justicia ante Dios. “No amaba, sí, odiaba al Dios justo que castiga a los pecadores, y en secreto, si no blasfemamente, ciertamente murmurando mucho, estaba enojado con Dios”. Luego, en medio de esa lucha con Dios, el mensaje de las Escrituras se volvió claro, como una puerta cerrada hace mucho tiempo que se abre de par en par. Cuando se dio cuenta de que un “Dios misericordioso nos justifica por la fe… sentí que había nacido de nuevo y había entrado en el paraíso mismo por las puertas abiertas”.

Lo que Lutero descubrió es la libertad de los cristianos que confían en la misericordia de Dios en Cristo. Como escribió más tarde: “La fe es la obra de Dios en nosotros”.

    Our services are held every Sunday at 10:30am. They are bilingual, but you don't need to be fluent in both languages to join us. The service is designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of their primary language.

    Absolutely! Children are an important part of our church family. We will offer special programs for children during our services in the near future, meanwhile they are welcome to sit with you and participate in the service as they learn about God’s love with you.
